BorderDuel Track Classic Extends an Open Invitation to all States

The BorderDuel Track Classic has expanded each year and new for 2013, the meet will be open to any current high school athlete in the United States, making this Northwest meet a destination for all athletes that want more competition.

The meet will also add a Friday twilight session with the running of the steeplechase and 5,000m under the lights at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. The Saturday event schedule will be at a new venue - Wilsonvile High School, just south of Lewis & Clark College.

Also new for 2013 will be a two-tier qualifying standard system. There will be automatic and provisional qualifing standards, along with a maximum number of entries for each event. Athletes meeting the automatic mark are guaranteed entry into the meet. The maximum number of athletes in each event will then be filled from the provisional lists. The goal with this system is to control the number in each event, shorten the length of the meet and enhance the experience for the competitors.
