The BorderDuel Track Classic
2nd Annual Meet Features Top Preps from Oregon and Washington

Continuing to build the meet's success, the 2nd annual BorderDuel Track Classic will again feature top high school competitors from Oregon and Washington in a meet on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. The competition will provide an opportunity for the best athletes from all divisions of both states to challenge each other after their state championships.

The BorderDuel recognizes the rich tradition of track and field in the Northwest and gives the region a showcase event. The meet joins the post-state meet schedule as the road to the Nike Outdoor Nationals in June.

Lewis & Clark College has been the site of outstanding track meets over the years and is one of the premier venues in the Northwest. It was most recently the site of the Brooks Meet of Champions and for the previous 10 years hosted the adidas Track Classic.

The stadium records are a who's who of track and field, with such notables as Ato Bolden (Trinidad-Tobago/100m Olympian, Noureddine Morceli (Algeria/Mile World Record Holder), Charles Austin (USA/High Jump Gold Medalist, Stacey Dragila (USA/Pole Vault Gold Medalist-World Record Holder), Maria Mutola (Mozambique/800m Gold Medalist) and Connie Price-Smith (USA Shot Put Record Holder) having set records.

The BorderDuel is open to all high school athletes that attend school in Oregon and Washington. Athletes will compete for their state in a classic dual meet format to determine a team champion in this great Northwest rivalary.
